NEURONAS\u2019 goal is to significantly increase our understanding in neuromorphic processing and couple it with wireless communications. In this direction, it takes upon the task of designing a new type of metasurface that can support strict energy consumption and response time demands. To achieve this, NEURONAS exploits novel concepts that are coming from the world of computing engineering, such as NPU, introduce new theoretical models that capture both the computational complexity and energy consumption of the control unit of the RIS, experimentally verify the neuroRIS modelling & superiority against conventional RIS approaches, and present a novel proof-of-concept.
